MagicEmerald BE represents an entertaining map containing lots of different quests and mini-games. By passing them, you can achieve an obsidian block for building a nether portal. For even more fun, here you can find easter eggs and other secrets.
TheMagicEmerald BE Map has 16 levels and by completing them, you will be offered either the obsidian block mentioned before or a flint and steel.

Here you can see how the first level looks like. By stepping on a pressure plate, the dirty house will be flooded and an obsidian block will appear from the floor. You can put it on the portal greed. See the map for more complete instructions.
In the level pictured above, you will have to clear away all the pineapples (which are actually glowstones) from the pizza, because the Eckosoldier believes that these fruits are not the best supplements for a pizza. In my opinion, he is quite reasonable in this issue.
In the present level, you will have to look for a cake which must be hidden somewhere in the area.
